If you’re a multi-stan, then you’ll feel as if Christmas came early because top K-pop girl groups IVE, aespa, and (G)I-DLE will be releasing a collab single soon!
These girl groups are known for their addictive songs paired with fun dance challenges on TikTok. Some of their recent hits include Baddie (IVE), Better Things (aespa), and Queencard ((G)I-DLE).
IVE, aespa, and (G)I-DLE collab
We wish that all of the girls could be part of the song, but South Korean YouTube channel M:USB announced that only one member from each of the three girl groups will be involved in the project. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for the official lineup, so stay tuned.
This isn’t a random or ordinary collaboration because it will be part of the K-pop scene’s efforts to support South Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan which is an event that will not only boost the country’s tourism but will also powerfully serve as a bridge between various governments, international organisations, and citizens.
A year ago, BTS’ history-making free concert (which was attended by thousands of fans on-site and was live-streamed by millions online) was hosted in Busan to promote itself as a potential city for this super large-scale event.
This time around, South Korea is once again hoping that this unconventional collab (girl groups and music industry professionals from different entertainment agencies coming together) will represent its solidarity for its World Expo bid.
