Add Sparkle To Your Holiday Playlist With These 5 Red Velvet Performances

Christmas feels guaranteed

Red Velvet and aespa have just released a new track titled ‘Beautiful Christmas’ to get you up and dancing with all your fellow Reveluvs and MYs.

Red Velvet is made up of five members, namely Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri. They debuted in 2014 as a four-member group and their youngest member, Yeri, joined them in 2015. They’re known for their impressive vocals and harmonies and hits such as ‘Psycho’, ‘Queendom’, and ‘Feel My Rhythm’. To celebrate their latest collab with aespa, we’ve rounded up five other songs they performed that would add a little magic to your playlist this Christmastime.

5 Red Velvet songs for your K-pop Christmas playlist

1. Wendy - ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’

Wendy is the main vocalist of the group, and this is seen in the seemingly effortless way she reaches the high notes of this Christmas classic. Her jazzy rendition will simply soothe you after a long hard day and warm your heart if you’re feeling quite grinchy during this season.

2. Irene - ‘Jingle Bell Rock’

If only we had a time machine, we could go back to 2015 when actor Park Bo Gum and Red Velvet’s leader Irene had the cutest interactions as MCs of the Korean music awards show, ‘Music Bank’. Beyond hosting the show, the two also performed duets during the show’s special episodes. Their take on this fun Christmas staple is a must-watch if you’re a fan of the two.

3. Joy - ‘First Christmas’

NCT member Doyoung, who comes from the same entertainment agency as Red Velvet, joins Joy in performing a song titled ‘First Christmas’. Their vocals complemented each other as they sang about lovers celebrating Christmas for the first time.

4. Seulgi and Yeri - ‘Waiting For White Christmas’

In this performance, NCT members Taeil, Haechan, and Chenle join Seulgi and Yeri for a feel-good Christmas track about wishing and waiting for a snowy Christmas. It’s their own take on a song that their company released back in 2000.

5. All members - ‘Wish Tree’

To cap off our list is Red Velvet’s ‘Wish Tree’. Its mellow vibe and the group’s sweet harmonies will tug at your heartstrings. It has the sweetest lyrics about wishing for both your own and your special someone’s happiness and that you would still be together even after several winters pass by.
