Pump Up The Healthy Love: trailer, cast, plot, and more
The new rom-com K-drama tells the story of a former bodybuilder named Do Hyeon Jung (Lee Jun Young) who now runs a struggling 24-hour gym after mysteriously walking away from the spotlight. He’s passionate about changing the lives of his members through fitness. Meanwhile, food-loving Lee Mi Ran (Jung Eun Ji) is a travel agency planner who’s recovering from a painful breakup and career slump. She signs up for Hyeon Jung’s gym in hopes of regaining her strength and turning over a new leaf. Along the way, sparks begin to fly. The relationship between our two leads grows amid laughter and shared frustrations. We can’t wait to see how their bond grows deeper.
Lee Jun Young and Jung Eun Ji have both starred in recent rom-com projects such as Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale and Miss Night and Day, respectively, so you can expect them to masterfully portray their quirky and charming characters in this new series. Other cast members to look out for include Lee Mi Do (18 Again) and Lee Seung Woo (Seoul Busters) who have also been involved in comedy projects. There will also be a “Witch Trio” of trainers played by Park Sung Yun, Lee Ji Hye, and Hong Yoon Hwa.
Only two episodes of the drama have been released, but it has been receiving mixed reviews online already. Viewers are saying that it has over-the-top comedy that, at times, will make one cringe. Others praise the series and say that it’s hilarious but relatable too. It promises to give a refreshing take on personal growth and relationships, and we do hope that it will deliver.
