Miss Night and Day: trailer, cast, plot, and more

Miss Night and Day is the latest ongoing rom-com sprinkled with elements of mystery and action. Reply 1997 breakout star slash APINK member Jung Eun Ji plays the lead role of Lee Mi Jin, a weary job seeker who has been taking on part-time jobs throughout her twenties. She falls into a well and transforms magically into a 50-year-old ahjumma (meaning middle-aged woman in Korea) named Lim Sun (veteran actress Lee Jung Eun). She is only able to return to her old self at night.

Mi Jin successfully lands the job she has always wanted and becomes an employee of the Prosecution Service. She once again encounters Gye Ji Ung (Choi Jin Hyuk), a cranky boss who finds himself entangled in Mi Jin’s life whether by day or night. How will their relationship turn out after Ji Ung discovers her secret?

Miss Night and Day: our first impressions

The plot of this show reminds us of the K-drama The Light in Your Eyes, which also weaves in themes of ageing and what it’s like having a double identity. We believe that many viewers, including ourselves, were initially drawn to the series due to Choi Jin-Hyuk’s return to the rom-com genre. However, we were pleasantly surprised after witnessing the energy and acting skills of the female leads and are interested to continue tuning in to this series.

The first episode starts out a little slower than we’d imagined, but the pace picks up after the main lead transforms into a different person. Keep watching this space and stay tuned for our full review!
