The series based on a manhwa (meaning Korean comics) is trending again — three years after its original release. The hype’s only getting bigger with Weak Hero Class 2 on the way, bringing back Ji Hoon and introducing fresh faces like Lee Jun Young and Choi Min Yeong (XO, Kitty).

Why is Weak Hero Class 1 trending three years after its release?
The 2022 K-drama Weak Hero recently made waves worldwide after it became available on the streaming giant Netflix. What starts as a classic underdog story quickly morphs into a dark, action-heavy drama that doesn’t shy away from tough themes. It stars Park Ji Hoon (Love Song for Illusion), Choi Hyun Wook (Twenty Five Twenty One) and Hong Kyung (Revenant).

Weak Hero is based on a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of a mathlete Yeon Si Eun (Park Ji Hoon) who’s a constant target of bullies and refuses to give in to their demands. He meets Ahn Suho (Choi Hyun Wook) and Oh Beom Seok (Hong Kyung) and together they form an unlikely trio to fight back against the oppressive students at school and beyond.
However, things start to take a darker turn when Beom Seok gets tangled up with the wrong crowd. You can see how it all goes down and stream Episodes 1 to 8 on Netflix.

In the upcoming season, Yeon Si Eun carries the weight of his traumatic experiences as he transfers to a new school. Unfortunately, this will only lead him to even more dangerous territory. The new series will reportedly delve into the tougher side of teenage life and show how Si Eun and his new allies will stand up for each other.

At Eunjang High School, he will meet Park Hu Min (Ryeo Un), Seo Jun-tae (Choi Min Yeong), and Go Hyun Tak (Lee Min Jae), as well as foes like Choi Hyo Man (Yu Su Bin), Na Baek Jin (Bae Na Ra), and Geum Seong Je (Lee Jun Young). How is the Weak Hero TV series different from the manhwa?
In the comics or manhwa in Korean, Weak Hero Class 1 is revealed in the flashback scenes of the current storyline. The TV adaptation is also able to flesh out more of the characters.
What happens to Beom Seok at the end of Weak Hero Class 1?
Towards the end of Weak Hero Class 1, Beom Seok turns on his friends and hangs out with the bullies. He decides to scout someone who could take down his former friend Suho. When he finally realises the error of his ways, the damage has been done.
To cover up his violent acts, his emotionally and physically abusive father sends him away to the Philippines.
Did Suho die in Weak Hero Class 1?
In the final episode of Weak Hero Class 1, Suho ends up in a coma as a result of his injuries during his fight with MMA fighter Woo Young, Beom Seok, and his lackeys. Si Eun takes a vengeful route and fights against anyone involved in the fight with Suho. Afterwards, Suho wakes up, however, this only happens in Si Eun’s imagination.
