Park Ji Hoon And More To Star In ‘Love Song For Illusion’

If there’s one thing we’ve all learned from years of watching K-dramas, it’s that they make amazing period series and movies. Some are heart-wrenching (we’re talking about the likes of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo), while others are action-packed like Kingdom. But whatever period subgenre it is, there’s definitely a following from around the world. So if Korean period dramas are your thing, then you’re in for a treat in the new year with Love Song for Illusion starring Park Ji Hoon!

Love Song for Illusion: cast and plot

Korean network KBS is starting the year — literally — with a new period fantasy romance series called Love Song for Illusion. It is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Vanziun. The story revolves around a man who has two conflicting personalities and his love (and obsession) with the woman who loves him. The show’s cast is led by Park Ji Hoon (Weak Class Hero 1).

Park Ji Hoon will play the roles of Crown Prince Sajo Hyun and his alter ego Ak Hee. Sajo Hyun, who grew up with an oppressive father, works as a fashion designer at a downtown boutique while hiding his true identity. On the other hand, Hwang Hee (Arthdal Chronicles) will be his half-brother Sajo Yung who holds dark ambitions and secrets.

Playing the role of Geum Hwa, the ambitious and greedy wife of the Crown Prince, is Ji Woo (Pure Love). Meanwhile, Hong Ye Ji (Produce 48) is Yeon Wol, an assassin who seeks to avenge her family but ends up becoming the Crown Prince’s concubine.
