Dancing Queens on the Road: cast and plot

The show’s regular cast members are Lee Hyori, BoA, MAMAMOO’s Hwasa, Uhm Jung Hwa, and Kim Wan Sun who are known for being some of South Korea’s best female performers. In the show, they embark on a nationwide tour to meet fans, have fun together, and perform powerful stages. Here’s a rundown of the cast’s background.

Kim Wan Sun was popular in Korea from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. She was dubbed the “female Michael Jackson” by her fans and was known as a trailblazer during the conservative era of the Korean music scene.

Before Uhm Jung Hwa starred in Doctor Cha, she was a music artist in 1989 as a chorus member of the Korean network MBC. She then grew out of her shell and became known for her dance music and unique fashion sense.

Lee Hyori started as a member of the K-pop girl group Fin.K.L in 1998 but decided to launch her career as a solo artist. She was well-loved by South Korean fans and was given the nickname the “nation’s fairy” for her beauty and became known for being an iconic, sexy diva.

BoA became known as the “Queen of K-pop” when she rose to stardom during the early 2000s. She was known for breaking barriers not only with her fluency in Japanese and English but for also introducing her brand of pop and street music to a wider global audience.

MAMAMOO’s Hwasa is known for being a singer, songwriter, rapper, composer, producer, and television personality. Aside from these, she’s also praised for her fearless personality and fashion sense (you can learn more about how she defies beauty standards here).
