The serum comes in a dark green bottle made from recycled glass with a dropper. Fun fact: It also won Best Sustainably Made Packaging at TheBeauLife Beauty Awards 2022.
"I love that the bottle is recyclable and made with recycled glass! The pipette is convenient to use as well, especially due to the thickness of the serum. I can control the usage easier compared to other very watery products." Do note that the pipette is not recyclable at the moment.
The Body Shop Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate first impressions and claims
The serum is powered by edelweiss flower extract.
"I was excited to try it as I have previously heard lots of good reviews for The Body Shop's Drops of Youth and its natural-origin ingredients," Xuanyi shared. ICYDK, the serum is the "new" version of the bestseller and was released earlier this year.
It's formulated with a double concentration of edelweiss that's packed with antioxidant benefits such as preventing premature skin ageing and the formulation of dark spots. The edelweiss plant contains an antioxidant called leontopodic acid that, according to the brand, is said to have 43% more antioxidant power than retinol.
Aside from antioxidation, the serum also claims to maintain the skin's moisture barrier with vegan and natural-origin hydrating peptides. The constant dose of hydration means your skin stays plump, while also diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.
Applying The Body Shop Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate
It has an almost gel-like consistency.
Upon swatching the serum, Xuanyi noticed that it had a "gel-like texture" and a "natural and fresh" scent. The slightly thicker texture made her think it'd take a while to absorb, but it wasn't the case. "I was surprised by how fast it is absorbed into my skin given its thick consistency." She added that her face felt super moisturised and soft after applying the product.
She used the serum twice a day to get the most out of its cocktail of ingredients. "My skin feels smooth throughout the day and even though I sleep in an air-conditioned room at night, my skin still feels hydrated when I wake up the next morning."
Xuanyi observed that her skin feels more hydrated and nourished, with added suppleness and a fresher appearance. However, she still needs some time to see its effect in fading acne scars.
