BLACKPINK’s Jennie Is On Fire: New Variety Show, Collab Song, And More

BLACKPINK Jennie’s upcoming variety show My Name Is Gabriel

BLACKPINK’s Jennie is rumoured to be touring the world once again — not for her music career but for a brand-new variety show. 

Recently, Jennie has also taken part in the programme Apartment 404 (you can learn more about the show right here) with variety show veterans Yoo Jae Suk and Cha Tae-hyun. It’s reportedly struggling to maintain viewers, and some people are commenting that Jennie isn’t a good fit for it and the concept itself is uninteresting. We’re hoping that Jennie’s upcoming show will take off and show off her charms more.

My Name Is Gabriel will be led by producing director (or PD) Kim Tae Ho. It’s said to be similar to the Life of Others special on MBC’s show Infinite Challenge in the past. 

If it’s inspired by this previous programme, then you can expect the cast members of My Name Is Gabriel to head off abroad and experience the life of a non-celebrity. You can check out a clip above where Yoo Jae Suk and Ha Dong Hoon (AKA Haha) meet a Korean grandmother living in Japan.

You can also look forward to a star-studded show because actors Park Bo Gum (Record of Youth, Reply 1988), Ji Chang Wook (Welcome to Samdal-ri, The Worst of Evil), and Yeom Hye Ran (The Uncanny Counter, The Glory) are joining the cast.

Veteran entertainers Park Myung Soo (Infinite Challenge) and Hong Jin Kyung (Single’s Inferno panellist) are also coming on board the show. 

Filming is reportedly starting by the end of March, and the show is set to be released in June 2024. Stay tuned for more details.

BLACKPINK Jennie’s new song

Aside from her variety show schedules, Jennie also released a new song titled Slow Motion with American rapper and singer Matt Champion of the band BROCKHAMPTON. More than being a featured artist on the track, she’s also credited as a co-composer and co-lyricist. It’s also a special milestone since it’s her first music-related release in 2024, and it’s also the first one under her newly established label Odd Atelier. 

In an Instagram post, she shared, “This one’s close to my heart and I’m so excited to share its message with you all. Matt and I worked on this song three years ago and I hope you guys enjoy it as we share a piece of ourselves”.

In the world of fashion, Jennie is also making waves for her campaigns with Chanel, Calvin Klein, and more. She’s the fresh face of Chanel’s reissue of its first watch, the Première Édition Originale. She also attended the brand’s Fall-Winter 2024/25 Ready-to-Wear show in Paris. Previously, she starred in Calvin Klein’s Spring 2024 campaign.
