Watch Song Kang and Park Min-Young Navigate An Office Romance in ‘Forecasting Love & Weather’

Don’t miss this rom-com

Looking for a feel-good romantic comedy series to add to your watch list? Don’t miss out on the Netflix K-drama Forecasting Love and Weather, which stars popular actors Song Kang (Nevertheless, Sweet Home) and Park Min-Young (Her Private Life, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?). Read on for more info about the cast, series plot and more.

Forecasting Love & Weather plot

The 16-episode series is described as a “cheerful, romance drama of people at the Korea Meteorological Administration who break, fall and get back on their feet every day.”

Similar to forecasting the weather, the series aims to depict the uncertainties that people face in navigating love’s uncharted waters — especially when it comes to office romance. The series is available on Netflix and will release two new episodes per week, on Saturdays and Sundays.

Song Kang, who is touted as ‘the son of Netflix’ for starring in multiple hits distributed or produced by the streaming platform, plays the role of Lee Si-Woo, an intelligent reporter with an easy-going personality. Meanwhile, Park Min-Young takes on the role of Jin Ha-Kyung, a hardworking general weather forecaster who believes in facts and figures.

In the official trailer, the series captures Si-Woo and Ha-Kyung at odds with each other due to their different working styles. Ha-Kyung tells Si-Woo that “forecasting is a science” and shares that if Si-Woo were to wish to remain part of her team, he’ll need to base his statements only on “scientific evidence.”

Despite their differences, the couple eventually realises that they have feelings for each other and attempt to keep their office romance a secret.

The series also stars Yura from Girl’s Day and actor Yoon Bak

The series also stars singer Yura, who’s a member of the South Korean girl group Girl’s Day, and actor Yoon Bak, who has appeared in shows such as Search and Mystic Pop-up Bar.

Yura plays the role of Chae Yoo-Jin, a daily weather reporter, while Yoon Bak is Han Ki-Joon, a weatherman who previously dated Park Min-Young’s Ha-Kyung. Over the course of the show, viewers will learn how these four main characters’ love lives and professional lives will intertwine with one another.

Look out for more office romances coming your way

Office romances are nothing new especially in the world of K-dramas but expect to see more workplace TV couples appearing on screen.

Apart from Forecasting Love & Weather, Netflix has also just dropped the official trailer for another upcoming romantic comedy series, Business Proposal, which will premiere on 28 February. The series stars Kim Se-Jeong and Ahn Hyo-Seop, who play an employee and a CEO respectively and are working at the same company.

Fancy a more intimate take on this genre? Check out Love & Leashes, a film that stars Girl’s Generation’s Seohyun and singer Lee Jun-Young. The R21-rated movie premiered on Netflix on 11 February and is inspired by the webtoon of the same name. It talks about two co-workers who enter a “contractual relationship as partners in consensual play, pleasure and pain.”
