Make way for these dazzling stars of the night! We’ve rounded up our top five beauty looks at the 2023 Golden Globes.
The annual ceremony celebrated its 80th year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. It recognises the past year’s best lead and supporting actors and actresses, the best motion picture, the best animated picture, and more.
And now, we’re presenting the winners in our book when it comes to the ceremony’s red carpet event.
Top 5 beauty looks at the Golden Globes
1. Jenna Ortega
We love Jenna Ortega’s look that breaks away from her usual goth glam style, which comes along with her role as the titular character of the hit Netflix series Wednesday. Her flowy, mesmerising Gucci gown was made with bell sleeves, pleated detail, and a dramatic train that’s a stark contrast to the goth bride look she wore for her show’s premiere event.
Jenna also sports shoulder-length chocolate brown tresses that were lightly flipped at the end, which gives a more sleek and shiny vibe compared to the tousled (yet equally cute) wolf cut she shared on Instagram recently. Her glam look also featured light eyeshadow, long eyelashes, and nude lipstick.
To top it all off, she wore Tiffany & Co. jewellery pieces including the brand’s silver snake necklace, diamond bracelet, rings, and earrings.
Jenna was nominated in the category for Best Actress in a TV Series Musical or Comedy.
2. Selena Gomez
Selena’s makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, revealed that Olehenriksen’s skincare products were used as a base for her glowing glam.
For makeup, Selena showcased the best of her brand Rare Beauty’s arsenal such as the Came To Play Eye Shadow Palette for her subtle purple eye makeup and the Kind Words Matte Lipstick in Worthy for her lips.
Selena also stole our hearts when she came to the ceremony with the cutest date, her nine-year-old sister Gracie.
She was nominated for her role as Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building. It’s in the same category as Jenna — Best Actress in a TV Series Musical or Comedy.
3. Anya Taylor-Joy
She complemented her look with her metallic gold mani and let her signature platinum blonde hair down (only this time half was pulled back with a twist).
Anya was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her performance as Margot in The Menu.
4. Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie has been making headlines for her pink outfits recently, which might be pointing to her upcoming Barbie film. At the Golden Globes, she wowed us with her shimmery custom Chanel gown. It featured Chantilly lace and silk tulle embellished with sequins, beads, and feathers that made us wish they played Taylor Swift’s ‘Bejeweled’ when she walked in the room.
According to the luxury fashion brand, it had 30,000 elements of embroidery and took a mind-blowing total of 750 hours to create.
Her glam look included long, loose waves for her hair and rose-hued lipstick and pink blush from Chanel.
Margot was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her performance as Old Hollywood actress Nellie LaRoy in Babylon.
5. Stephanie Hsu
If a top could kill, it would be Stephanie Hsu’s Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress. Its intimidating black top and floral, floor-length white and mint green skirt gave us girl power vibes. She topped off her look with dangly earrings, a ponytail, and Sophia Webster shoes.
Stephanie Hsu is one of the stars of the film Everything Everywhere All at Once. It has been nominated for six awards and its lead actress Michelle Yeoh took home her first golden statue for the category of Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
