2025 romance Chinese dramas
1. The Best Thing
Love lighthearted dramas? Check out The Best Thing which you can expect will soothe your soul. It’s about a traditional Chinese medical doctor named He Su Ye (Zhang Linghe) and hotel professional Shen Xi Fan (Xu Ruo Han) struggling with insomnia and anxiety. They both have scars from failed loves so it will take some time for their relationship to blossom into something deeper. You wouldn’t want to miss how their slow-burn romance unfolds.
If you enjoyed Hidden Love starring Zhao Lusi or Love O2O starring Yang Yang, you’ll be happy to learn that this shares the same screenwriter, Ou Sijia.

2. The First Frost
At first, Hidden Love spin-off The First Frost may not be everyone’s cup of tea with its heavy vibes, but its sweet moments and the journey of the characters finding each other again make the series worthwhile. Its main leads played by Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Ruo Nan truly set the bar high for stories revolving around first loves, yearning, and second chances.
Here’s a little fun fact: Like A Sunny Day, Like A Rainy Day — one of the songs featured on the show — is by Silence Wang, who also lent his vocals for the soundtrack of Hidden Love.
Stream the 32-episode series The First Frost on Netflix.
3. Ski into Love
Ski into Love boasts a powerhouse cast with Esther Yu (Love Between Fairy And Devil) and Lin Yi (The Tale Of Rose) on board. Esther takes on the role of Wei Zhi, a comic artist whose career is stripped away from her. She stumbles upon a snowboarding video and decides to head to Beishan Ski Resort for inspiration. There, she encounters coach Shan Chong (Lin Yi) who also carries the burden of shattered dreams. Will they be able to get back on track to achieving their dreams as they grow closer?
Ski into Love will have 23 episodes. It will premiere in Singapore on 11 March on the YOUKU app.
