Girl, Put Your Records On! IKEA Is Launching A Sleek Retro Record Player

It’s part of a collaboration with Swedish House Mafia

IKEA is stepping into music territory with its upcoming OBEGRÄNSAD collection which features affordable equipment for those with a “limited budget but unlimited creativity”. All pieces in the collection are made in collaboration with supergroup Swedish House Mafia a.k.a. these products are musician-approved!

The OBEGRÄNSAD collection, named after the Swedish word for “unlimited” or “unrestricted”, was unveiled at the 2022 Milan Design Week, a prestigious furniture and design fair. During the event, IKEA revealed three products: a multifunctional desk, a supportive and comfortable armchair, and, the most anticipated of all, a nostalgic record player.

The desk is specifically designed for a music production home setup and is built with two ear-level speaker stands and a pull-out shelf where you can place a midi keyboard. Meanwhile, the armchair is versatile and can be used for work or just lounging. Similarly, the minimalistic record player with durable ENEBY speaker can be used for producing mixes or just for casual listening.

IKEA previously revealed the redesigned FRAKTA bag for the collection.

Aside from these three products, the collaboration will also feature a total of 20 furnishing products for musicians and casual music lovers which are yet to be revealed.

The IKEA x Swedish House Mafia OBEGRÄNSAD collection will be released globally around September to December (Fall 2022).
