Rise And Shine With TikTok’s Latte Makeup Trend

Latte makeup looks are taking over TikTok. If you love incorporating browns and bronze into your makeup look then this one’s for you.

The hashtag #lattemakeup currently has over 19 million views on TikTok. While there’s no one way to do it, creators seem to agree that its basics include bronzy tones, minimal coverage for the face, smokey eyes, and a natural lip.

Rachel Rigler is one of the TikTok users who popularised the look after taking inspiration from the “bronzed goddess” looks by makeup artist Tanielle Jai. So let’s break down how she achieves the look.

How to do the latte makeup trend

First, use one pump of tinted moisturiser (check out Tarte’s Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer and our other recommendations here) for your cheeks and browbone. Then blend it out.

For the eyes, use warm brown hues (like the ones on BYREDO’s First Emotions collection) for the outer lids and a bit of gold shimmery eyeshadow for the inner area (if you’re a K-beauty fan, you can check out Korean eyeshadow palettes that can be used for this look here). Finish the eyes by lining the lower lids with dark brown eyeshadow and one coat of mascara.

For concealing your under-eyes, T-zone, the area around the nose, and chin, use a shade that’s not too light for your skin tone (pick out what suits you best from our recommended concealers here). Press it in with a damp beauty blender. Afterwards, use a powder for the areas where you placed the concealer on.

Then use a non-creamy bronzer for the areas without concealer and use it as a sort of setting powder. No blush is needed for this look.

For the lips, use a nude lip liner and a clear lip gloss (like Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Ice Cooling Lip Luminizer). And voila, you’re all done and ready to pick up your favourite cup of coffee.
