K-Drama ‘The Red Sleeve’ Concludes With Stellar Ratings

The series surpassed its personal best record

Historical romance K-drama series The Red Sleeve concluded with its highest ratings on 1 January. According to South Korean online platform Naver, the 17-episode series received an average nationwide viewership rating of 17.0% and 17.4% on its 16th and 17th episode respectively. These ratings also surpass the series’ previous best record during its 14th episode, which received a rating of 14.3%.




Apart from its stellar ratings, the series also took home the most number of trophies during the recent 2021 MBC Drama Awards, which was held on 30 December. The series was named the Drama of the Year and its main cast, Lee Jun-Ho and Lee Se-Young took home the Best Couple Award as well.

The series stars Lee Jun-Ho of K-pop boyband 2PM as a young prince named Lee San, who is the rightful heir to the throne placed by his grandfather after his father had passed. Meanwhile, actress Lee Se-Young (Doctor John, The Crowned Clown) plays a palace servant named Sung Duk Im who wishes to reunite with her brother. A forbidden romance begins to blossom between the two main characters. The series is available on Viu.
