‘The Marvels’ Release Date, Cast, Trailer & More

Marvel fans and K-drama stans, unite! The Marvels has just released its trailer, and we can’t wait to see Captain Marvel back on the big screen and Park Seo Joon’s Marvel debut.

The Marvels: trailer, plot, and cast

The Marvels is the official sequel to the 2019 Captain Marvel movie. Captain Marvel AKA Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel AKA Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau (played by Teyonah Parris) have gotten their powers tangled up. Aside from getting their powers switched, all three appear to be accidentally swapping places with each other too.

For example, Monica was initially about to meet Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) at the space station but then finds herself in the middle of battling aliens on the moon. Then Captain Marvel stumbles into the home of Kamala in New York. Meanwhile, Kamala finds herself at the space station and squeals in excitement when she sees Nick Fury. Since they’re facing a new cosmic threat, they would have to learn to work together, whether they like it or not.

Fans are eager to see more of the dynamic among the three in the upcoming movie as this will be the first time that they will be coming together in one title. We last saw Captain Marvel in the ending credits scene of the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). Then we last saw Monica Rambeau on WandaVision (2021) and Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel (2022).

Aside from the three female heroes, fans also can’t wait for the return of Nick Fury (who is also getting his own Disney+ show titled Secret Invasion) plus the endearing yet terrifying Goose the Cat.

Park Seo Joon gets a tiny bit of screen time in the trailer but it was enough to make fans go wild. The K-actor known for various rom-coms is rumoured to play the role of Prince Yan in the upcoming movie. He seems to be leading a group of warriors into battle in the trailer.
