South Korean actress Rachel Park Min-Young is one of the most popular unnies (Korean for ‘older sister’) in the world of Korean entertainment right now, having clinched leading roles in notable dramas including Her Private Life, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and City Hunter.
Asides from capturing our hearts with her charming on-screen personas, Min-Young has also become quite the style star — she looks effortlessly gorgeous in a high-fashion ensemble while sitting #frow at a fashion show as she does during her off-duty days in an oversized hoodie and sneakers. Read on as we round up her top five looks and show you how you can steal her enviable sense of style.
Luxe in leather
Min-Young was appointed as the 2020 brand ambassador for Italian luxury house Tod’s earlier this year and had made her first official brand appearance during their Fall-Winter 2020 women’s show at Milan Fashion Week in February. Her look for the show was nothing short of stunning — she pulled her hair back into a sleek chignon and sported rosy soft makeup which subtly matched the lovely pink shade of her Tod’s Timeless T bag.
As for her choice of attire, she opted for a luxurious, all-black outfit from Tod’s, which included a slip dress and a chic leather coat. It’s safe to say that she looked right at home amongst the impeccably dressed crowd in Milan.
Lilac princess
Min-Young exuded irresistible feminine charm as she modelled dainty timepieces and jewellery by Korean brand Rosemont. Her monotone, peachy makeup also brought out her photogenic facial features and matched perfectly with her lilac off-shoulder top and a silky white tank top.
To re-create her dreamy get-up, we paired the trendy lilac shirt by Australian designer Dion Lee with a minimalist analogue rose gold watch and matching bracelet by Elle. The versatile shirt can be buttoned all the way up for Friday casual work situations or loosely worn off the shoulder just like Min-Young’s for a weekend date with your beau.
Rockin’ red
While Min-Young looks every part the modern princess in her elegant attire and wavy tresses, she knows how to switch things up on casual days too. She shared a few shots of herself on Instagram, dressed in a red-and-black ensemble which looked cool yet super comfy at the same time.
Playing with proportions, she styled her oversized sweater with a tiny black skirt to help create the illusion of slimmer legs. On her feet, she matched her preppy short-crew socks with a pair of classic low-heel loafers. Last but not least, she completed her outfit with an envelope clutch by Chanel.
Steal Min-Young’s style with the Marques’Almeida sweatshirt, which is meant to be worn oversized too. This design also features a black logo detail at the front along with a ribbed hem and cuffs. This particular Chanel clutch design worn by Min-Young is no longer available, however, we found a pre-owned clutch from the same brand which looks similar to hers — it also features the classic Chanel ‘CC’ logo as well as an all-over quilt design. For a more wallet-friendly, everyday option, consider the ASOS DESIGN quilted zip top clutch bag, which conveniently stores all of your essentials for a girl’s night out.
Streetwear style star
We’d like to think that Min-Young loves a good stiletto as much as a sporty, on-trend sneaker. She looked relaxed and carefree in her boyish streetwear outfit, which consisted of a dark green college hoodie, white sweatpants, and a highly coveted pair of sneakers by Nike x Off-White. Her radiant, bare-faced complexion is worthy of a mention too.
Build your staple of must-have streetwear pieces with Supreme’s classic script hoodie, which goes nicely with jeans or sweatpants. Consider pairing this hoodie with a pleated skirt too if you wish to add a touch of girliness to your outfit.
Cosy chic goddess
Neutral hues have never so looked this good. Min-Young artfully mixed her light-grey knitwear with a sand-coloured skirt which featured slightly frayed hems. Then, she capped off her elegant ensemble with her go-to sunnies and a pair of suede ankle boots. This elevated loungewear ‘fit is definitely worth a try, so reach for a long knit cardigan in a light grey hue and match it with a midi wrap skirt in the shade of tan, khaki or beige. If donning a pair of sky-high ankle boots sounds a little too painful for your feet, swap them out for a pair of crisp white sneakers instead.
Complete your look with light makeup so that you still look chic and put-together, whether you’re out running errands or catching up with your girlfriends over a Zoom call over the weekend. Are you a fan of Park Min-Young’s style too?
