Ahn Bo-hyun AKA the man who broke the internet last year with his relationship and breakup with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is back with a new K-drama Flex X Cop. Here’s everything you need to know about its plot, cast, and other K-dramas to binge while waiting for the next episode.
Ahn Bo-hyun TV shows
Ahn Bo-hyun has had a slew of heavy dramas such as Your Name, Military Prosecutor Doberman, and Itaewon Class. But we’ve rounded up dramas in which Ahn Bo-hyun won us over with his playfulness and how he can ace lighthearted scenes too.
1. Flex X Cop
Flex X Cop is an action comedy show about Jin I-soo (Ahn Bo-hyun), a wealthy and immature son of a CEO, and Lee Kang-hyun (Park Ji-hyun), a no-nonsense detective. The story starts when I-soo gets entangled with a criminal and is wrongfully detained by Kang-hyun. The public gets a hold of the news. To protect his father’s candidacy and his brother’s career, I-soo decides to play along with his family’s idea to join the force and make it seem as if he had been part of the investigative team from the start.
Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hyun bring the show to life with their characters’ opposite personalities and different tactics when it comes to solving mysteries. For example, Kang-hyun will go by-the-book to hunt down the bad guys while I-soo will use his connections and “flex” his resources to catch them.
Park Ji Hyun: "Ahn Bo-Hyun's very good at making people feel comfortable."
TheBeauLife had the opportunity to attend the show's press conference where the actors revealed that they previously worked together on the drama Yumi’s Cells. Park Ji-hyun (Do You Like Brahms?, Reborn Rich) shared that seeing a familiar face helped her ease into her first leading role.
Compared to their characters’ on-screen clashes, the two seem to have nothing but praise for each other while talking about the show. Ahn Bo-hyun said, “I haven't had the opportunity to meet most of the Flex X Cop cast before. So, it felt good to see Park Ji Hyun's friendly face on the set. I didn't get to know her better during the filming of Yumi's Cells because the series only had a few episodes.”
He shared that this time around, they got to bond more through gatherings and a trip with the team. Park Ji-hyun added, “Working with him, I noticed he is very good at making people feel comfortable. He's also very caring about people's feelings.”

2. Her Private Life
Her Private Life is about Sung Deok-mi (Park Min-young) who’s a professional art gallery curator by day and a diehard fangirl by night. She kept this a secret as it has driven her lovers away in the past until Ryan Gold, the new Art Director, enters her life.
He was paired up with Kim Bo-ra (Sky Castle) and the two brought several heartwarming moments to the show.
3. Descendants of the Sun
Descendants of the Sun was one of the most successful K-dramas in South Korea in 2016. It won the Grand Prize in television at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards and was named the Most Popular Show of the Year by the Korea Broadcasting Advertising Corporation. It also gave us the iconic Song-Song couple, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, who became lovers on and off-screen but sadly parted ways.
The series is filled with twists and turns, but it’s centred on the story of Kang Mo-yeon, a cardiothoracic surgeon, and Yoo Si-jin AKA Big Boss, the captain of an elite special forces team. The odds are against them as they continue to do their respective missions in a war-torn land.
Ahn Bo-hyun played a minor role in Descendants of the Sun. Even so, his character of First Seargent Im Gwang-nam AKA “Piccolo” charmed viewers. He was a good-natured and skilled soldier of Captain Yoo Si-jin’s (Song Joong-ki) team.
