Check Out Singapore’s Cream Of The Crop In Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

Food, glorious food. If you’re craving, there’s no need to look far because we’ve rounded up the top three restaurants from Singapore which made it to Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023! 

The people behind the list are part of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy which is made up of more than 300 top food writers, critics, chefs and restaurateurs in Asia. The ceremony was held in Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa.

1. Odette

Divine food, a relaxing space, and a team who will make you feel at ease are some of the things you’ll find at Odette. This French fine-dining restaurant, led by French Chef-Owner Julien Royer and pastry chef Louisa Lim, takes the coveted title of this year’s best restaurant in Singapore. Fun fact: Louisa also won Asia’s Best Pastry Chef award.

Odette currently sits at the sixth spot on the list, but it was crowned No. 1 in Asia in 2019 and 2020. Its offerings are primarily French but the restaurant proudly features top-notch Asian ingredients and techniques. Asia’s 50 Best praises its Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg and Heirloom Beetroot Variation.

2. Labyrinth

If you’re looking for a place that seems to offer something new and fun every time, this is the place to be. Aside from landing the 11th spot on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Labyrinth has also earned the Sustainable Restaurant Award in 2021 and the Highest Climber Award for this year (it was in the 40th spot last year).

Chef Han Liguang is known for his talent for turning classic Singaporean dishes into their most modernised and elegant versions. While Labyrinth’s dishes are constantly being updated, some of its must-try dishes are based on Hae Mee Tng or prawn noodles and Chef Han’s chilli crab ice cream which is currently in its eighth iteration.

3. Meta

If you can’t choose between Western and Eastern cuisine, then why not have both? Check out Meta, which is in the 17th spot on the list. It offers well-balanced dishes inspired by Chef Sun Kim’s Korean heritage, Japanese culinary techniques, and Western culinary training. Asia’s 50 Best recommends Meta’s simmered and grilled abalone from Jeju Island served atop a risotto and applauds its warm service without the stiffness of traditional fine dining.
