Jennifer Aniston Is Launching A Haircare Brand. Here's What We Know So Far

A new label to gush about

Update: LolaVie is revealed to be a cruelty-free, sustainable haircare line (we called it).  A hair icon finally has her own hair label. So far, the brand has debuted one product called "Glossing Detangler", which is a lightweight spray that will add shine and protect hair against damage. Read the full scoop below!

Jennifer Aniston’s beauty brand LolaVie is about to launch. When’s the release date? What products can we expect? We bet these are questions you have in mind right now. And while some of the details about this venture from the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. actress are yet to be confirmed, there are enough clues on social media to put two and two together. Here’s what we know so far about the newest celebrity beauty line to join the likes of Miranda Kerr’s KORA Organics, Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, Jennifer Lopez’s J.Lo Beauty and more.

What’s the meaning behind the name of Jennifer Aniston’s beauty brand, LolaVie?

It’s not the first time Jennifer Aniston used the name “LolaVie” for her products. Back in 2010, she was set to launch a perfume with the same name. This citrusy-floral fragrance was the first beauty venture of the Marley & Me star who shared to Reuters that she didn’t want the perfume to smell like candles and hair serums.

However, right before its launch, the LolaVie name was scrapped and replaced with Jennifer Aniston’s name. Even though the name LolaVie was filed away, it still intrigued many at the time. The popular theory about its meaning at the time was it’s about “laughing at life”, as in “lol” (laughing out loud) at vie (life in French). But Jennifer Aniston told the Los Angeles Times that it’s “a long story” and “too personal to tell”. Would the meaning of LolaVie be revealed now, a decade later? We do hope so.

What products can we expect from LolaVie?

There’s no denying that the beauty industry has been welcoming a lot of celebrity lines as of late. What sets apart Jennifer Aniston’s line is her long-time influence in the beauty scene. This is the gal who helped made a hard-to-maintain hairstyle become mainstream. If it was not for Jennifer Aniston, we seriously doubt “The Rachel” haircut would have been as popular as it was in the ‘90s.

Then in 2012, she became a co-owner and the face (or the hair?) for Living Proof, a haircare brand that’s known for its “hair condition-specific” targeted range. Jennifer Aniston took a part in the hair care brand’s development and creative marketing direction which involved collaborating with hair experts on new trends, according to PR Newswire.

This, and the Instagram post on LolaVie featuring Jennifer Aniston’s famed blond locks, leads us to the hypothesis that the brand will at least have some haircare products. Some speculate that the photo of the bamboo in what appears to be a laboratory flask means this range of products, probably haircare, will be “clean, all-natural” (here’s what that label actually means, by the way).

However, there are others who are also keen on Jennifer Aniston’s beauty brand launching a skincare line for mature complexions. Given that the LolaVie trademark is extended to “areas of the face and body, lotion, shower gel, candles,” according to the files secured by Page Six, it’s also another possibility. As for us, it would certainly be interesting to have a celebrity skincare line that would be targeted to ladies in their 50s and beyond — like Jennifer Aniston. It’s also exciting to think that the actress could develop potential dupes for the expensive skincare products she favours like the Biologique Recherche Lotion P50.

Whatever it turns out to be, we hope it’s buzz-worthy and efficacious!

When’s the release date of LolaVie?

Excited about the launch of Jennifer Aniston’s beauty brand? You don’t have to wait much longer. Based on the teasers and hints dropped on Instagram, the launch date will possibly be on 8 September (so that’s likely on the 9th for us). The brand’s website is already up and running, and you can sign up for updates here.

As early as now, Jennifer Aniston fans are already excited for the official announcement of the products and availability. Among them is thirteenlune co-founder Nyakio Grieco who commented about her excitement on one of LolaVie’s posts on Instagram. Looks like Jennifer Aniston is already getting some support from personalities in the beauty community.

The timing of Jennifer Aniston’s beauty brand’s entrance into the beauty industry is good. She just won the Outstanding Performance - Female Actor in Drama Series at the Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for an Emmy for The Morning Show. In addition, the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reunion which aired on HBO is still fresh on everyone’s minds. All that public interest could very much bode well for the launch of LolaVie. JENtember is here!
