Sephora Fall Press Day 2022 is here! One of our favourite pre-pandemic beauty events is back with a splash. We were once again given the opportunity to swatch new skincare, makeup, and body care to our hearts' delight. We also met some of the founders of these beauty brands, including Ultra Violette's Ava Matthews.
With the comeback of the event comes some key beauty trends and new-to-Singapore beauty brands too. Here are some you need to keep an eye on.
1. C you again
Vitamin C is making a comeback as a key skincare ingredient in products that have and will soon come to Sephora. The potent antioxidant can now be found in makeup in the form of Charlotte Tilbury's Beautiful Skin Concealer (launching 15 September). Ample coverage and added brightening benefits? Sounds like the cure for panda eyes.
If you want to focus more on brightening your skin from within, you can pick up the Sephora Collection Original Ultra Glow Toner and Serum. Both are formulated with vitamins C and E that brighten and protect your skin from free radicals to help you achieve an even-toned, radiant complexion.
Want more options? The Herbivore Nova 15% Vitamin C + Turmeric Brightening Serum (launching 15 September) combines vitamin C's glow-boosting benefits with turmeric, another antioxidant. The gentle antioxidant-rich serum has a ginger-like scent that adds a sensory layer to your routine.
Cap off your skin-brightening routine with the Sunday Riley C.E.O Afterglow Brightening Vitamin C Gel Cream (launching 15 September). The moisturiser is an anti-ageing and pore-refining cocktail that promises to brighten up your appearance in seven days.
2. All eyes on me
The eyes are indeed the windows to the soul and these brands at Sephora are here to help you look bright-eyed. One of the eye creams launching this season is the Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm.
Drunk Elephant's new eye care product is packed with ceramides, plant oils, vitamin F, and various kinds of cosmetic butters that help keep your eye area moisturised. If you're sensitive in this delicate area, it contains oat extract that instantly soothes the skin.
Indie Lee’s Restorative Eye Cream is another brightening eye cream you can look forward to arriving in Singapore. It’s powered by a blend of ectoin, centella asiatica, paracress, algae, and licorice root that helps diminish signs of ageing and boost brightness and plumpness.
3. Ace that base
Now that Singapore's winding down on the mask-wearing measures, we'll soon be able to bare our faces to the world. Put your best face forward with new glow-giving complexion products.
The Amuse Dew Jelly Vegan Cushion Foundation offers a clean, vegan and waterless complexion product for K-beauty lovers. Instead of water, the brand used 70% jelly essence as the base ingredient, giving the formula a moisturising and nourishing finish. It's also infused with a blend of birch sap, panthenol, 10 types of hyaluronic acid and 11 vitamin complex that hydrate, firm, soothe, and brighten up your appearance.
If you're a fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting collection, you'll want to cop the new Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation (now in Sephora). It has buildable medium coverage and a soft glow finish emblematic of the Ambient Lighting collection.
4. Conscious beauty is here to stay
Once a fad and now an everlasting trend, conscious beauty will be a focus for a lot of beauty brands in the future. More brands are embedding conscious elements into their products — be it through packaging or ingredients. One example is Charlotte Tilbury, which will be offering refillable packaging for its Airbrush Brightening Flawless Finish Powder. If you're currently switching to vegan beauty products, K-beauty brand AMUSE is certified vegan by EVE VEGAN — one of the strictest vegan certification bodies recognised internationally.
