Love The Cast Of ‘Wednesday’? Catch Them In These Other Titles

Dark twists and turns ahead

Snap, snap! If you haven’t watched Wednesday yet, this is your sign to get to it. It has elements of mystery, fantasy, and dark humour. Viewers are hooked, and the show has claimed the top spot on Netflix in Singapore and worldwide.

The plot of Wednesday

The story is a spin-off of the 1991 film The Addams Family and centres on Wednesday Addams, a high school girl who is just starting to have psychic visions about the past and the future. She goes on an investigation about a murder spree while making new friends and foes at Nevermore Academy. It’s no ordinary boarding school as it promises to be a haven for outcasts such as werewolves, sirens, and more.

If you’ve finished streaming the series on Netflix and you’re dying to know more about the stellar cast members, then this one’s for you.

Where to watch the cast of the Netflix hit Wednesday

Jenna Ortega - Scream (2022)

Jenna Ortega portrays a very compelling titular character. While she’s described as smart, sarcastic, and a little dead inside, you would keep rooting for her throughout the Wednesday series.

At 20 years old, Jenna has taken on multiple roles. She has starred in the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle and has been in popular shows such as Jane the Virgin and You. She is also no stranger to the horror genre as she has also worked on Netflix’s The Babysitter: Killer Queen.

But a film that proves her acting prowess is Scream (2022). She plays the role of Tara Carpenter, the first victim of the killer who dons the Ghostface mask.

It’s a must-watch for fans of the Scream franchise. While the film’s cast includes fresh faces, it’s also thrilling for fans to see the original actors David Arquette, Courteney Cox, and Neve Campbell back in action.

Emma Myers - Girl in the Basement

Emma Myers plays Wednesday’s roommate, Enid Sinclair. Unlike your typical werewolf, she’s a bubbly ball of sunshine and butterflies who initially clashes with Wednesday’s personality.

Wednesday is Emma's biggest role as of writing. But a year ago, she played Marie Cody in the Lifetime Network movie, Girl in the Basement. It’s inspired by true events and portrays the horrific story of the Cody family. Sara (Stefanie Scott) is a vibrant teen girl who was looking forward to her 18th birthday so she could move away from her controlling father Don (Judd Nelson). But he imprisons her and tortures her in the basement of their home. It takes decades before she escapes and the truth about what happens underneath their home is brought to light.

Girl in the Basement is available on Amazon Prime.

Gwendoline Christie - The Sandman

Gwendoline Christie plays Principal Larissa Weems. She is very adamant about keeping the peace between the school's students as well as with the local town's "normie" residents. Throughout the series, she often clashes with Wednesday and deems her at the centre of the trouble that happens around them.

Gwendoline has appeared in big performances like the Star Wars franchise and Game of Thrones. But one of her memorable roles was in Netflix’s The Sandman. It’s an adaptation of the graphic novel series by Neil Gaiman and tells the story of Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), the King of Dreams. He embarks on a journey across worlds to find what was stolen from him and restore his power. Gwendoline plays the role of Lucifer, the singular ruler of Hell.

You can stream The Sandman on Netflix.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán - Traffic

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán play the mother and father of Wednesday. They are inseparable and are fond of reminiscing about the memories they made in Nevermore Academy. But before being a madly-in-love couple, Catherine and Luis had already worked together for the 2000 film titled Traffic.

Traffic is a crime thriller set in the world of drug trafficking. It evokes the high stakes and high risks of the drug trade, as seen through a series of interrelated stories. Catherine plays the role of Helena, the wife of a high-stakes dealer. She only knew of his profession after he was arrested in an investigation led by undercover DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agents Ray Castro (Luis) and Montel Gordon (Don Cheadle).
