Fashion has become more environmentally-conscious in recent years, with brands obtaining their materials from more sustainable sources or upcycling old clothes to make new (and equally fashionable) pieces for consumers. The latter used to be commonly done by small niche brands but has since extended to bigger names in fashion — just like Miu Miu, which just unveiled its newest Upcycled 2024 Collection featuring denim pieces.
Miu Miu Upcycled 2024 Collection: What we know

In a recent Instagram post, K-pop idol and IVE member Jang Wonyoung wore a denim-on-denim outfit consisting of an embellished crop top and baggy jeans. She captioned it with, “Discover the new @miumiu upcycled collection in the store #MiuMiuUpcycled,” which of course caught our eye and had us checking Miu Miu’s website for the new collection.
Here’s what we got from our mini-research sesh about the collection: it’s the brand’s fourth upcycled collection and is a limited edition launch. According to the brand’s website, the materials used for this collection were especially picked for their weight, colour and qualities of fading. It also features bags for the first time. For the bags, it uses leather remnants from past Miu Miu designs. The campaign’s faces are actor Ever Anderson (Black Widow) and model Huijia Chen.

The Miu Miu Upcycled 2024 Collection is now available online and in select stores, so here’s a rundown of some of the items priced at SGD1,480 and up that you can get!
1. Embellished Denim Top

This is the top seen on IVE’s Wonyoung in her recent IG photo. It’s a vintage-style bra top with floral embroidery that perfectly contrasts with the denim. It has a side closure with hooks and is made in the classic fit.

2. Five-Pocket Denim Jeans

Because two pockets aren’t enough. The five-pocket denim jeans is a high-waist pair of jeans that features rounded front pockets and patch pockets on the back. The top half of the jeans are in darker denim from the bottom half, and has contrast top-stitching for a more stylish look.

3. Denim Trucker Jacket
A denim jacket is a staple in any wardrobe. This upcycled denim trucker jacket has an oversized fit and a velvet collar for a hint of style. It also has low-welt pockets and an embroidered Miu Miu logo on the chest.

4. IVY Leather Patchwork Bag
One of the first bags since the first iteration of the upcycled collections, the IVY leather patchwork bag is made from leather used in past styles from the brand. The piece has gold hardware, linen blend lining and a leather lettering logo in the centre.

5. Denim Headband

The chunky headband is trending nowadays and Miu Miu is hopping on the trend as well with their own version of it. Their headband has sequined floral appliqués in different sizes and a metal lettering logo on the side.

Where to get it in Singapore
The Upcycled 2024 Collection is now available in select stores and online via miumiu.com. However, you will need to order some of these pieces from their worldwide website instead of Singapore, as they are not available on the local website as of writing.
