Remember how Gucci generated a ton of buzz when it revealed its collaboration with adidas during its Fall/Winter 2022 Exquisite Gucci fashion show earlier this year? Well, fans of both fashion powerhouses won’t need to wait much longer as the adidas x Gucci collection is scheduled to drop on 7 June at selected Gucci stores, dedicated pop-ups, online and via the adidas CONFIRMED app.
As you mark your calendar for this highly anticipated release, take a closer look at these all-new lookbook images — envisioned by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele — and discover which pieces to add to your shopping cart.
A fixation on stripes, athletic silhouettes and leisurewear
The adias x Gucci collection arrives on 7 June.
The lookbook visuals were inspired by archival catalogues — hence the brightly coloured backdrops and the models are captured in fun, dynamic poses! Gucci revealed that as the heritage of both brands are “encoded” in a trio of lines, the ready-to-wear pieces will spotlight the white Three Stripes of adidas alongside the red and green Web of Gucci.
The collection features sporty silhouettes and leisurewear, including tennis-inspired separates, adidas Gazelle sneakers and a bucket hat.
Keep your eyes peeled for the energetic prints that are featured throughout the pieces too — such as the adidas Trefoil and the GG monogram.
Standout ready-to-wear pieces include: the tracksuit, tennis-inspired skirts, and graphic t-shirts.
From conventionally formal to colourful and contemporary
The lookbook visuals for the adidas x Gucci collection are inspired by archival catalogues.
Moving on to footwear and accessories, “conventionally formal” pieces such as leather heels, suede loader and silk scarves are given a fashionable, contemporary twist to the former’s retro aesthetics. Some of the pieces in the collection are also made with “future-conscious” fabrications such as polyester, cotton and viscose.
Standout footwear and accessories include: the Gucci Horsebit 1955 crossbody, adidas Gazelle sneakers and GG canvas bucket hat.
The products are priced between SGD500 for a cotton sponge headband and SGD4,790 for a Horsebit 1955 mini bag.
