Empowering Glow CEOs: Highlights From SNAILWHITE's “The Glow Network CEO Masterclass”

Empowered women empower women

Despite the numerous challenges of the pandemic, many female-led businesses were birthed and some pivoted to adapt to the changing landscape. In fact, women-owned businesses on Lazada increased from 60 to 66% in 2020. Inspired by this entrepreneurial spirit, SNAILWHITE — the award-winning skincare brand best known for helping women achieve healthy, glowing, beautiful skin — gathered 25 female business owners in the Philippines for the SNAILWHITE “The Glow Network CEO Masterclass” last 17 and 24 July. The two-day event aimed to empower female entrepreneurs and equip them with essential business knowledge through a live virtual workshop. Read ahead for the highlights of the exclusive event.

What better way to learn than by getting insights from seasoned professionals? On the first day of the masterclass, SNAILWHITE invited three female industry experts to share their valuable knowledge, tips, and stories on building a successful local brand. Home Buddies founder and award-winning associate director Frances Lim Cabatuando shared her tips on leveraging PR, branding, and marketing to boost your business’ online presence.

Meanwhile, LOOK At Me Philippines’ Head Glowie Robillo imparted her knowledge on omnichannel distribution in the Philippines. ZAP Philippines co-founder Angelique Uy closed the session by relaying strategic tips on growing a start-up business based on her personal entrepreneurial experience. The participants were also given the chance to ask questions directly to the speakers and received on-the-spot advice for their business.

Pitch, pitch, pitch!

The grant includes PHP50,000 in cash for the winner’s use to grow her budding business, as well as the opportunity to partner with SNAILWHITE on a limited-edition collaboration in the coming months.

After hearing the convincing elevator pitches from all the participants, the locally made and sustainable footwear brand Sundals — founded by Evan Marie Maderazo — took home the coveted SNAILWHITE Glow Grant. Sundals uses readily available homegrown fibres such as abaca, raffia, waterlily, and more in creating their footwear. As a social enterprise, they partner with local artisans to handcraft their sandals, as well as their bags and accessories.

This year’s The Glow Network CEO Masterclass was all about amazing women uplifting their fellow femme-preneurs, but we should always strive to support and boost each other every single day. How will you do your part in making sure everybody glows with success?
