1. Byeon Woo Seok

32-year-old Byeon Woo Seok entered the K-entertainment industry as a model before making his acting debut in the 2016 drama Dear My Friends. His fame grew when he starred in the heartwrenching film 20th Century Girl and when he played the villain in Strong Girl Nam-Soon. Lovely Runner gave him his first K-drama main lead role, and we can’t wait to see what his next project will be.

2. Kim Hye Yoon

27-year-old Kim Hye Yoon is a versatile actress who won the Best New Actress award for her role in Sky Castle at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards. She also showed off her acting skills in her unique roles in Extraordinary You and Snowdrop.

Kim Hye Yoon will guest star on the variety programme Whenever, Possible which is hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok. She will appear on Episode 7 which will air on Viu on 4 June.

Fun fact: She’s friends in real life with Kim Bo Ra, who plays her rival in Sky Castle. Bo Ra showed her support by sending a coffee truck and visiting the set of Lovely Runner.

3. Song Geon Hee

26-year-old Song Geon Hee plays the endearing second lead role of Tae Sung in Lovely Runner. He might seem like a new actor, but he has already starred in a variety of K-dramas ranging from historical dramas to thrillers. He has played mostly supporting roles in The Tale of Nokdu, Mystic Pop-Up Bar, Snowdrop, Missing: The Other Side, and Snowdrop. We can’t wait to see more of his future endeavours.

Fun fact: His breakthrough role was portraying the character of Park Young Jae in Sky Castle, the son who ran away with his partner after being admitted to Seoul National University.

4. Lee Seung Hyub

Like In Hyuk — the band leader and supportive best friend of Sun Jae — in Lovely Runner, 31-year-old Lee Seung Hyub is a K-idol. He’s a rapper, singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who debuted in 2015 with the band N.Flying. Beyond music he appeared in K-dramas such as Nevertheless, and Sh**ting Stars.

5. Seo Hye Won

30-year-old Seo Hye Won is known for portraying characters who experience unrequited love. She has a comedic flair and a likeable personality as seen in the workplace rom-com Business Proposal, and she can also take on heavier roles like in the fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls. Aside from these, she was also involved in True Beauty, The Fabulous, and Queen of Divorce. Which genre do you think she’ll take on next?
