Tinder has rolled out its Music Mode feature in Singapore and it’s definitely giving us early 2000s vibes. In case you don’t recall (or if you were not on the internet yet at the time), early Y2k social media platforms like Friendster and Multiply allowed users to add songs automatically play once your profile is visited. Now, Tinder brings back the same feature to their platform to “build on the natural ties between music and human connection by letting members find others through their love of the same tunes.”
Activating Music Mode is simple: connect your Spotify account to your profile if you haven’t yet, head over to Tinder Explore, and start setting your Anthem. According to Tinder’s report, over 40% of Gen Z users globally have started putting Anthems on their profiles which led to a 10% increase in matches.
Singapore Tinder members’ Top 5 Spotify Anthems in 2021 as of writing include STAY by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber, good 4 u by Olivia Rodrigo, Heat Waves by Glass Animals, Kiss Me More by Doja Cat featuring SZA, and INDUSTRY BABY by Lil Nas X featuring Jack Harlow.
