Insider Roundup: Red Velvet’s Wendy Returns & More

Some happy news

Another week is under our belt and we can finally enjoy a relaxing weekend. To set you in the right mood, we have several happy bits of news to share with you. From Red Velvet’s Wendy’s partial return to Glow Recipe’s arrival in Singapore, here are your dose of positive vibes to bring with you into the weekend.

Red Velvet’s Wendy to make a partial comeback

After an eight-month hiatus, Red Velvet’s Wendy is set to make a partial comeback according to a statement from SM Entertainment last Wednesday. Wendy had to spend the last few months recovering from a fall from the stage during a rehearsal, suffering some facial injuries and wrist fractures in the process. As of now, Wendy is set to participate in non-strenuous activities with the rest of the group to ease her back into the idol life. Fans were happy to hear the news and the hashtag #WeMissedYouWendy trended worldwide. Welcome back, Wendy!

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo to star in an upcoming K-drama

In other K-pop related news, BLACKPINK's Jisoo will be starring in her own Korean drama series next year, as confirmed by YG Entertainment. While information about the plot of the series is still quite scarce, aside from it being written by Yoo Hyun Mi and directed by Jo Hyun Tak, we do know that it is tentatively titled Snowdrop. The Dior ambassador has made some guest appearances on TV series before, including The Producers and Arthdal Chronicles alongside Song Joong Ki. We’re eagerly awaiting her display of acting chops in 2021.

Clueless is set to get a reboot

Another exciting piece of news is that Clueless, the film starring the loveable Cher Horowitz, will be getting a TV series spin-off. However, we won’t be seeing our original protagonist; rather, the series will focus on her best friend Dionne Davenport. Following Cher's disappearance, how will Dionne fare as the new most popular girl at school? With this premise, it would be interesting to see how the show will pull it off. We're keeping our eyes peeled for more info, but in the meantime, we'll be busy rewatching the original movie which just celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.
