Insider Roundup: Nikon’s Free Online Photography Classes & More

Happy Friday!

We’re just in the fourth month of 2020 and already, so much has happened. Our readers in Malaysia and the Philippines are now in their third week of home quarantine. So to help alleviate the anxiety we’re all feeling, free entertainment and online classes have been made available online. There's also Nikon’s free photography classes, various brands having IG Live sessions, and more, in this week’s Insider Roundup.

Brands have taken to sharing some free learning content online. From now until 30 April, Nikon School is allowing you to access their photography classes — taught by professionals — for free! These classes usually go for USD15 to USD50 each, so this is a great opportunity for amateur photographers and photography enthusiasts alike. It covers a range of topics including pet and landscape photography. If you’re interested, head over to Nikon’s official website and sign up by entering your name and email address so you can view the classes.

Tune in to live musical entertainment through Instagram Lives

Taking a cue from John Legend and Hozier, some brands have invited musicians to go live on their Instagram accounts with a musical performance. Singaporean personalised skincare brand Yours had singer-songwriter Joie Tan take song requests during her live acoustic session yesterday evening. If you missed that one, tune into Chanel’s official Instagram profile tonight at 7 PM SGT, for a live serenade from Belgian singer Angéle. For more weekly engagement, every Monday starting 6 April, Marc Jacobs will also have Tune In The Good where they’ll play music playlists curated by friends of the brand. We’re sure that more brands have something similar planned for the next few weeks.
