Zendaya’s Instagram is filled with some of her best beauty looks, be it from the red carpet or casual selfies. A recent addition to the former Disney star’s grid (as of writing) is a photo of her new brow-length blunt bangs (which she sported with an edgy Vivienne Westwood chain crop top) for the premiere of her new film Dune in London.
As usual, the look made headlines, following her other buzz-worthy Instagram posts. This inspired us to curate a list of our favourite Zendaya beauty looks we’d love to recreate. Curious? Find our top five below.
Beauty look #1: The wet second-skin Balmain look
Zendaya owned the Venice FIlm Festival’s red carpet this year with her gorgeous wet-look outfit. Complementing her figure-hugging Balmain nude dress was a hairstyle that made her waves look drenched in water. The neutral colours of the look were complemented with smoked out red eyeshadow and a heavily-lined top and bottom waterline to really emphasise her piercing gaze. How we wish we can hit the ‘heart’ button on this Instagram post more than once.
Beauty look #2: Baby curls and soft graphic wings
What we love about Zendaya is she often sports her natural curly hair whether she’s on- or off-duty. That’s why we can’t get enough of this beauty look she showcased on Instagram, where she shows off a natural messy bun which features her baby curls (and her beautiful facial bone structure) from one of her Critics’ Choice Awards looks. Zendaya matched the hairstyle with subtle makeup except for a diffused graphic wing that highlights her beautiful peepers.
Beauty look #3: Cool summer girl aesthetic
2020 gave us a lot of braided hairstyles from Zendaya, but this casual selfie moment that thankfully made its way into her Instagram grid is definitely our favourite. The combination of the fine plaits, the natural eye and skin makeup, and the moist-looking lips definitely gave off major cool summer girl vibes.Plus, we’re totally in love with how less voluminous hairstyles emphasise her beautiful bone structure. Z’s letting her natural waves loose this year but we can’t help but wish she brings this look back soon.
Beauty look #4: Red hair, red lips
Zendaya always stuns with black hair and neutral makeup. But this beautiful red-on-red combo she did in 2019 proves that she can rock more vibrant looks. The voluminous red hair and the bold lip gave us a modern-day Jessica Rabbit vibe, a more mature look compared to Zendaya’s youthful style. We love her preference for nude lips, but we can’t wait for the day she starts playing with more scene-stealing lip colours again.
Beauty look #5: Met Gala 2018 Joan of Arc bob
Speaking of red hair, who can forget Zendaya’s 2018 Met Gala look inspired by Joan Of Arc where she wore a custom Versace armour-like gown matched with a red bob? The dress itself is a showstopper, but the wig that was an aversion to Zendaya’s usual long hairstyles was the icing on the cake. Not only did it give the look an edgy appeal, but the length and the texture is also a great high-fashion take on The Maid of Orléans' famous cropped haircut. The fiery colour was also a great contrast to Zendaya’s strong brows.
