Kylie Jenner’s New Stormi Collection: An Ode To Her Daughter

Butterflies are the main motif

Set to drop on her daughter Stormi’s second birthday, Kylie Jenner's new makeup collection under her eponymous brand is perhaps the sweetest birthday gift in the realm of beauty this year. Dubbed by Kylie as "the first collab of the year," the Kylie Jenner Cosmetics Stormi Collection includes three mini lip kits, a mini eyeshadow palette, mini high gloss kit and pressed powder blush with a purple and butterfly theme.

At the very start of the year, Jenner posted a photo of Stormi at a meeting table. Papers strewn in front of her showed that the new collection would be the Valentines Day-special for the year. While it was easily deduced that butterflies will be heavily featured in the design, the soft purples and lavenders are a welcome surprise. Another quirky feature of the collection is that some of the items are mini-sized versions.

Matte Liquids and High Glosses

The three mini lip kits are in the soft matte formula that the brand is known for. The names are all Stormi-inspired. Give Me Butterflies features a deep coral pink tone. Head In The Clouds is a deep pink hue. Finally, the Stormi shade is a beautiful peach shade. The boxes the lip kits come in were also designed with gift tags, letting you write a personalised message if you will be gifting the items for Valentine’s Day.

If matte liquid formulas aren’t your style, the collection also has a mini high gloss set. The six mini glosses feature shades that range from pinks to mauves to reds. In contrast to the matte liquid lipsticks, the glosses have more of sheer finish. The collection also has a pressed powder blush included. Named Flutter In Love, the blush is a mauve pink.

The Eyeshadow Palette

As for the collection’s eyeshadow palette, it has purples, corals, golds, and browns in matte and glitter finishes. The names are either butterfly-related or Stormi-inspired. 4:43, which was the time of Stormi’s birth, is a light gold shimmer with white flecks. Stormi World, a shimmery purple, is a perfect play on words. Butterfly Babe is a pretty shimmery pink-purple hue. Finally, Stormi Weather is an intense gold glittery shade placed smack dab in the middle of the palette.

“I think I’ve been waiting for this moment since the day I found out I was pregnant,” Kylie shared in the caption of the collection’s teaser video, where the mother and daughter duo are shown having a great time playing with confetti. As the billionaire mom had also recently expressed her desire to follow in the footsteps of big sister Kim Kardashian (“I see myself for sure having four kids,” when asked by a fan), there's probably a lot more daughter-inspired collections to come.

The collection drops 1 February on the Kylie Cosmetics website.
