Check Out These Beauty Brands Made By Local Influencers

Love local!

Beauty content creators get constant exposure to the latest beauty releases and innovations, so they get a firsthand look and feel of the best makeup and skincare products available in their country. So it's no surprise that some of them have taken a hand at creating products of their own. That said, here are some influencer beauty brands in Southeast Asia you should definitely check out and support.

Plastic Cosmetics

With her bright pink hair and whimsical sense of style, Wendy Cheng (known as xiaxue online) gained a following of more than 200,000 followers who watch her reviews and tutorials. The YouTuber and self-proclaimed makeup addict ventured into the business side of beauty with the recent launch of her brand Plastic Cosmetics. They promise to give you perfect lashes in a matter of seconds with their magnetic lash glue and false lashes. The products claim to be easy to apply — just like putting on eyeliner — and boast of a waterproof and wind-resistant formula. If you're curious to see the lashes in action, check out their website.

Duck Cosmetics

Malaysian brand Duck Cosmetics was founded by veteran blogger and mompreneur Vivy Yusof back in 2017. The proudly halal-certified cosmetics line has the distinct honour of being the first Malaysian brand to be sold at Sephora. Their products call your attention with their signature purple packaging and tongue-in-cheek product names such as the Come Clean Eye Removers and the Glossip Girl Lip Gloss. Head over to FashionValet and Sephora to see what this brand has for you.

Sofwanah Cosmetics

In 2017, YouTuber and professional makeup artist Sofwanah founded her namesake cosmetics brand. She wanted to create affordable, beginner-friendly, and good-quality vegan makeup for Muslim and vegan beauty lovers. As of writing, Sofwanah Cosmetics has your basic beauty essentials, such as eyeshadow palettes, lip cremes, and mascaras. What caught our attention are their Timeless Palettes in Demure (for everyday looks) and Allure (for more playful looks). You can order them through Shopee, Zalora, and their website.

All Covered By Anna Cay

What do you do when you have more than 800,000 subscribers on your YouTube channel? For Filipino beauty vlogger Anna Cay, the next step was making good quality tools. Just a year ago, she came out with the Airblender Sponge and had people ditching their go-to beauty sponges in favour of it. She has since expanded the product range to include a tinted sunscreen called the Skin Saver. It has SPF50 but can also act as your base product in lieu of foundation. Keep an eye on their Shopee page for their next restock, as their products tend to sell out really quickly!

VV and Co.

Bloggers and sisters Vern and Verniece Enciso had a lifelong dream of having a brand in their own name. While they're not unfamiliar to joint ventures — they ran a blog together for several years — they made that dream into a reality by launching a perfume brand named VV and Co. in 2018. Launching with two products — the Vern (a musky yet feminine perfume) and the Verniece (a sweet eau de toilette) — the line has now expanded to offer scents made with their fellow influencers. Get to know their different scents through their website, Lazada, The Kult and BeautyMNL.
