You read it correctly. Glow Recipe's newest addition is a pore-clearing and refining treatment and a makeup primer that helps your makeup apply more smoothly. Here's how it does so.
It's powered by encapsulated (time-releasing) beta hydroxy acids (BHA) and strawberry enzymes that help to visibly but gently reduce the appearance of your pores and improve your skin's texture over time. It also contains a plant-derived pore minimiser and strawberry leaf extract that work in tandem to absorb excess sebum and instantly blur and gradually refine your pores.
It's also infused with tapioca and rice — instead of silicone — that lend their mattifying, oil-balancing and skin-smoothing effect, all without clogging your pores in the process. These ingredients also give it a satin-like finish.
In addition to these skin food, the brand claims that the formula is also vegan and cruelty-free, and doesn't contain silicones, silica, parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, drying alcohols, or synthetic fragrance.
Its packaging is made of 41% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and is 100% recyclable too!
How to apply it
Since it's a hybrid product, there are two ways you can incorporate it into your routine.
If you're using it as a pore treatment, dispense a pea-sized amount and gently pat it on to newly cleansed and toned skin. Apply a moisturiser afterwards. You can use it daily, twice a day.
However, if you're using it as a skin-blurring makeup primer, you should make it the last step of your skincare routine. Let it absorb completely before you go ahead and apply your makeup.
