Know These Beauty Brands From Well-Known Fashion Houses

When two worlds collide

Beauty and fashion go hand-in-hand. Similar to how you feel more confident in your favourite outfit, having a good makeup day will boost your self-esteem. So it's no wonder that fashion brands with beauty products have increased in number in the past few years. Tapping into the lively beauty industry allows fashion houses to reach new customers and increase their revenue. Given that the cosmetics industry is set to grow to USD463.5 billion by 2027, it makes more sense to have in-house beauty items than not.

To give you an idea of the fashion-beauty brands that are set to launch soon or already available to us, here’s a rundown of the well-known brands to check out now.

Valentino Beauty

First up is the upcoming release of Valentino Beauty this August. Conceptualised by Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the collection will feature the brand’s signature vermillion red hue and V monogram. It will debut with nine main products: Rosso Valentino Lipstick, Very Valentino Liquid Foundation, V-Lighter Face Base Primer and Highlighter, Go Clutch Compact Face Powder, Eye2Cheek Blush And Eyeshadow powder, Eyeshadow Color-Flip Eyeshadow Palette, Twin Liner Eyeliner, Brow Trio Eyebrow Liner, and Magnificent Mascara. You can pre-order these from now until the launch next month, but some items are already sold out.

Clozette’s top pick: We’re seriously eyeing the Rosso Valentino Lipsticks that come in 50 different shades of red and two finishes (creamy satin and soft matte). Did we mention it can be refillable too?

La Perla

A new addition to fashion houses with beauty products is lingerie brand La Perla, which recently delved into makeup, bodycare, and fragrances. The new beauty line will feature sustainable ingredients and packaging, in line with the brand’s eco-friendly ethos. As of the moment, their makeup collection features two lipsticks, an eyeliner, and a brow gel. Meanwhile, the bodycare line boasts of plant-based formulas for their shower oil, body scrub, body serum, and body cream.

Clozette’s top pick: La Perla’s Matte Silk Lipstick is the star of this collection. It will come in eight shades and gorgeous embossed flower details on the lipstick itself — just a fun touch that we really appreciate.

ZARA

Another fashion brand with beauty products is Spanish retailer ZARA. The brand now also offers eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, and eyeliners. Made in partnership with British makeup artist Diane Kendal, ZARA BEAUTY products boasts of high-impact colour and refillable, reusable packaging in black and white motifs. All the products have a slanted design reminiscent of the letter Z, for ZARA, of course.

Clozette’s top pick: ZARA’s makeup selection has all of the basic colour cosmetics but we can’t help but be intrigued by the refillable eyeliner. It has an ultra-fine precision brush tip that precisely applies the water-resistant black formula for impactful, graphic eyeliner looks.

Lululemon

While we know and love Lululemon for its functional activewear, not a lot of people know of its in-house beauty products. The brand’s Self-Care category, which launched on Sephora US, features skin and body care items like facial cleansers, deodorants, dry shampoo, moisturisers and more. These products were made to take you from “sweaty to ready”, a quick post-exercise cleansing if you’re strapped for time.

Clozette’s top pick: Bring the On the Go Sweat Kit in Aloe Lotus in your gym bag for a quick post-workout refresh. It contains Lululemon’s deodorant, dry shampoo, face mist, and lip balm in travel-friendly packaging and a handy water-resistant pouch.

Tom Ford

When American designer Tom Ford launched his brand back in 2006, it included menswear, beauty products, and various accessories. Fast forward to 15 years later, Tom Ford Beauty was reported to be one of the fastest-growing cosmetics lines in 2020. The brand’s selection of perfumes for men has quite the rep, too. And just recently it announced Hyun Bin, one of Korea's most in-demand actors of the moment, as the ambassador for Tom Ford's new Private Blend perfume coming out this July.

Clozette's top pick: We can't get enough of the Tom Ford Eye Colour Quads that give the basic essentials to an everyday eye look to the sultriest smokey eyes.

CHANEL

Coco Chanel's beauty products were one of the first of its kind from any fashion house, since they started making perfumes and cosmetics in the 1920s. ICYDK, they're celebrating the 100th anniversary of the iconic No. 5 perfume this year. Less than a century later, they expanded with a beauty line specifically for men called Boy de CHANEL. If you want to lean into indulgence, CHANEL's makeup, skincare, and bodycare will have you covered for a head-to-toe regimen.

Clozette's top pick: We love pampering our hard-working hands with a luxurious hand cream like the N°5 L'Eau On Hand Cream and its light, citrusy goodness.

Marc Jacobs

Luxuriously bold is the only way to describe Marc Jacobs Beauty products. Launched in 2013, Marc Jacobs' makeup is all about breaking makeup rules and indulging in creativity through long-wearing, high-performing formulas. The wealth of colourful eyeliners, eyeshadows, and lash-enhancing mascaras invite you to embrace your individuality and emphasise your gaze.

Clozette's top pick: The Eye-conic Eyeshadow Palettes that serve rich pigment and eye-catching packaging.
