5 Beauty Looks We Loved At the AMAs 2021

Award-winning looks ahead

The AMAs (American Music Awards) 2021 gathered some of the hottest names in music at the moment — from BTS and Cardi B to Olivia Rodrigo and Italian rock group Måneskin. Apart from witnessing our favourite celebrities reuniting with one another backstage, many fans — us included — were excited to check out their red carpet makeup looks. Whose beauty game were we most impressed by? Find out below.

Maneskin’s glam rock eyeliner

Kohl (eyeliner) has never looked this cool. Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin turned up to the AMAs in their Gucci tuxedos and dialled up the drama further with their signature eyeliner makeup. The quartet didn’t stick solely to classic black, though. Two members — drummer Ethan Torchio and guitarist Thomas Raggi — rimmed their lash lines with shimmery blue eyeliner. Will this be your glam makeup inspo for the upcoming festive season?

Olivia Rodrigo’s brushed-up brows

Singer Olivia Rodrigo seemed to have had the best time of her life yesterday. She made her American Music Awards debut with her power ballad Traitor as well as spent quality time with her BFF, fellow musician Conan Gray. On the red carpet, the 18-year-old stunned fans in a sheer, periwinkle sequined dress with feather details. For her makeup, she kept things subtle with brushed-up brows and went with rosy hues for her lids, lips and cheeks.

Liza Koshy’s soft, tendril updo

Comedian and YouTuber Liza Koshy was one of the presenters for the American Music Awards, alongside other celebrities including actress Masai Martin and model Winnie Harlow. The 26-year-old brought her bubbly personality onto the stage and the red carpet with a black sculptural mini dress, which she styled with a pair of leather knee-high boots.

Instead of rocking a tight ponytail a là Ariana Grande, she went with a softer, feminine updo that celebrated her wavy locks. She left a few tendrils loose, which framed her face beautifully and drew attention to her warm brown makeup look.

Jojo’s crimson-copper lids

All eyes were on singer-songwriter Jojo, who lit up the red carpet in her silver chainmail bustier dress and fiery crimson-copper lids. The singer took her look up a notch by rocking a graphic cat eye, fluffy false eyelashes and straight eyebrows too. She even matched her eye makeup with her manicure by sporting deep red french tip nails that featured metallic accents.

Winnie Harlow’s bejewelled accessory

Model Winnie Harlow showed up in a sizzling fringe beaded number that showcased her toned shoulders and legs. Winnie’s tight, shiny curls were styled into an updo to keep the focus on the details of her frock. For finishing touches, her hairstylist added a bejewelled hairpin that matched perfectly with her dress.
