Air Jordan Collabs We Love: From The Latest Off-White Drop To Air Jordan 1 OG Dior

Sneaker wishlist

We're all witness to Air Jordan's long, colourful history of collabs. If you think about it, even the Air Jordan itself is a product of a collaboration between Nike and Michael Jordan. Originally marketed to athletes, this shoe has made its way to the wardrobes of people from different walks of life all thanks to the many redressing it has had throughout the years.

Even today, the 36-year-old shoe remains a hot, covetable item whose pre-order list is something that people would line up for or wake up in the wee hours of the morning for. Case in point: the newly released Air Jordan collab Off-White™ x Nike “Sail” Air Jordan 4 was sold out almost as soon as it was launched. Don't worry, you can still get your hands on these but for a much, much higher price tag

Another hotly anticipated Air Jordan collab is the Air Jordan 1 OG Dior Sneakers touted as "the most luxurious" Air Jordan yet. It's not only prized because of its intricate handmade design but also its exclusivity. Like the Hermès Birkin Bag, you can't just enter a store or go online to buy an Air Jordan 1 OG Dior Sneakers "pre-drop". Instead, you have to win an exclusive raffle — no, not for a pair of Air Jordan 1 OG Dior Sneakers but for an opportunity to buy one. Around five million people joined the raffle, according to WWD, vying for a chance to take home one of the 8,000 pairs made available to the public.

Unfortunately, Air Dior will no longer be released in boutiques due to the ongoing pandemic in consideration of employees and clients, and because of the "incredible response" the collection got.

Maybe it's because the newest Air Jordan is always sold out that many fans are left imagining upcoming pieces from the line soon. One very creative one that caught our attention is made by creative strategist Jonathan Leong for the Singapore-based streetwear store Ox Street.

Would this concept eventually become a reality? Maybe, maybe not. For now, it's just a concept but Leong adds in his caption to "stay tuned for updates sometime in late August/September 2020". For that, we're all ears! While we're not able to get our hands on this cool Air Jordan concept yet nor the newly released White™ x Nike “Sail” Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 1 OG Dior Sneakers, we're just gonna do a little throwback and look at the other Nike Air Jordan collabs that caught our fancy.

Levi’s x Air Jordan 1 Retro

For the love of denim! While the newer Levi’s x Air Jordan 6 is the one that's making headlines these days, the original Levi’s x Air Jordan 1 Retro released back in 2008 still has a special place in our hearts. The strong red accents matched with elephant print fabric is just something that's hard to come by these days.

Aleali May x WMNS Air Jordan 1 Retro High

To date, stylist Aleali May has released three Air Jordan collabs but the Aleali May x WMNS Air Jordan 1 Retro High launched in 2018 is by far the most eyecatching. With its fur-lined tongue and multicoloured suede look, it immediately became a hot seller.

Vogue x WMNS Air Jordan 1 High Zip

Named as the first "true women's Air Jordan", this collaboration with Vogue got a lot of hype which it thankfully lived up to. The MVP in this design is the sleek zip-on feature that replaced the usual sneaker laces, lending it a high fashion vibe reminiscent of elegant stilettos.

Aleali May x Air Jordan 6

Another one of Aleali May's Air Jordan collabs that we can't help but give a shoutout to is the Aleali May x Air Jordan 6. The dusty-millennial pink colourway is done tastefully and complemented with orange streaks also known as the "infrared". While it's not as flashy as her Aleali May x WMNS Air Jordan 1 Retro High, the minimalist look of this piece has its own charm and eventually became popular with women and men alike.
