Facebook Reels Has Landed In Singapore — Here’s What To Expect

Creators, look out for new monetisation tools in the coming weeks

Brace yourselves for more short-form videos coming your way as Facebook Reels has officially launched in Singapore today. Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg also revealed that the company is launching new monetisation tools for this feature as it hopes to be the “best place” for creators to “connect with their community and make a living."

Mark shared that creators can now share their Instagram Reels as recommended content on Facebook to garner more visibility and reach. The social media giant is also working on expanding its monetisation tools for Reels over the coming weeks. The company will introduce testing of overlay ads, such as banner and sticker ads to help creators “truly thrive” on the platform.

Facebook also intends to roll out Reels on Facebook Watch and allow users to share their public Reels to Stories. The feature is equipped with several features including ‘Audio’, AR filter effects, multi-clip and remix.

‘Audio’ allows users to search for a song or audio clip from the Facebook music library or record their own original sound. Meanwhile, users will be able to tap on AR filter effects that are either created by Facebook or by third-party developers for their Reels as well.
