It was always “go big or go home” for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, and that’s why fans hailed her Queen of the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. But she had been on hiatus for around five years, and so her fans were eagerly awaiting her red carpet comeback. And she did not disappoint with a glorious look inspired by her Asian roots.

Her Christopher Bu ball gown showed off a nature-inspired print with elements such as huge tigers and bamboo stalks. For makeup, she opted for bright, bold red lips, delicate winged eyes, and minimal eyeshadow and blush. To top it all off, she wore an updo (that seems as if it was inspired by an empress in a C-drama). It also had a little bamboo stalk pinned on the side.

She came to the festival to attend the premiere of Jeanne du Barry which stars actor Johnny Depp, who was previously surrounded with controversy and legal battles with his ex-wife.

2. BLACKPINK’s Rosé

K-pop star BLACKPINK’s Rosé (with her wispy, new baby bangs) is making headlines for her Cannes Film Festival red carpet debut. She went for low-key glam with her sparkly light pink eyeshadow and soft pink blush and lips and a low updo for her strawberry blonde hair that’s giving Audrey Hepburn vibes. The star of her look was her elegant black dress from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello.

She attended the premiere of Monster, a drama by Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda. Her fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie is also expected to attend the festival for the premiere of The Idol.

3. Gemma Chan

Gemma Chan (actress, producer, and more) pulled off a lovely bridal-esque look with her all-white custom gown from Louis Vuitton and looked as sophisticated and classy as ever. Her gown had a high-neck collar and a floor-length cape and was bejewelled with shimmery sequins. She styled her hair in a high-set bun with blunt bangs and went for a minimal makeup look as well with her matching soft red eyeshadow, blush, and lips.

Similar to Rosé, she also attended the premiere of Monster.

The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival runs till 27 May, so you can look forward to more glamorous looks from the stars in the days to come.
