Move aside, pastel barrettes and pearl-encrusted hair clips; the go-to hair accessory for the holiday season shall be a feminine oversized black bow, according to the CHANEL 2021/22 Métiers d’art show that took place in Paris on 7 December. Models sported deep, side-parted locks and oversized black bows at the CHANEL 2021/22 Métiers d’art show.
Over at the CHANEL 2021/22 Métiers d’art show, models were decked out in pieces that were “very metropolitan yet sophisticated.” This included colourful tweed coats, matching knit sets and cosy, logo-embroidered cardigans. While these signatures of the House have topped our Christmas wishlist, we were also enamoured with the models who sported oversized black bows in their hair.
Models with shorter length hair wore the bow behind their ears, while those with longer hair wore the hair bows to the side.
Models rocked a face-framing side parting and gently tousled tresses, which contrasted against their makeup featuring striking, jet-black winged eyeliner and a rosy pout. What’s great about this trend is how fuss-free and easy it is to re-create: Simply opt for a black coloured ribbon in your favourite material — be it sleek satin or rich velvet — and tie a loose bow around your tresses.

Newly minted beauty-preneur Ariana Grande is known for her slicked back, sky-high ponytail. With the help of her hairstylist Josh Liu, the singer has also been switching up her mane game for her appearances on The Voice.
She’s introduced a large satin-like bow over her ponytail in various colours; going from classic black, white to a bright cobalt blue hue.

Over at Hailey Bieber’s, the model shared a few photos from her 25th birthday party, which saw her accessorising her sleek ponytail with a black ribbon as well. To complete her low-key yet glamorous get-up, she went with a velvet jumpsuit, strappy heels and chandelier earrings.
