Bridgerton fans, here’s something to look forward to besides the upcoming season of the Netflix period drama hit: Jonathan Bailey a.k.a. Anthony Bridgerton, officially joins the cast of the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical, Wicked.

Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu who is also in charge of this two-part film, announced that Jonathan will play the character of Fiyero through a tweet.
Jonathan Bailey’s musical history
Prior to earning popularity by playing Viscount Bridgerton, the 34-year-old actor has already appeared in West End performances of Les Miserables and The York Realist. In 2019, he even won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for his performance in Stephen Sondheim’s Company.
Wicked movie other cast, release date
Aside from Jonathan Bailey, Ariana Grande and Broadway actress Cynthia Erivo will lead the cast as Glinda and Elphaba respectively.
The Wicked movie adaptation will be split into two films slated to be released on 25 December 2024 and 2025.
